I write creative nonfiction and literary fiction—short stories, one-act plays, and novels (in-progress). My work has appeared in the St. Petersburg Times, Evening Street Review, the Denver Quarterly, the Literary Review, and other in-print and online anthologies. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Mills College (PBK) and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson.

I taught college English and Creative Writing for almost ten years at a Northern California community college site before becoming an operations supervisor at that campus. I have served as Executive Co-Director and Treasurer of the Mendocino Coast Writers Conference, as well as a board member. I also served as board member and president of the Writers of the Mendocino Coast.

A little known tidbit about me is that I am a licensed cosmetologist. Though I no longer practice in a salon, a few friends have experienced my haircuts and scalp massages.

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me in an exercise class, in the garden, as hostess of a dinner party, at a desk corresponding with my many California pen pals, in bed reading, or on the couch enjoying TV time with my pets.
